Gluten Free 2018: from 17 to 20 November

Nutrition is health, the gluten-free business meets in Rimini

It is not long before the next edition of Gluten Free Expo, the event that since 2012 is dedicated, at international level, to the popularization of proposals and food solutions for the gluten-free market. From 17 to 20 November all the players in the sector will gather: companies, consumers and professionals. The character of the fair is mainly B2B but even food enthusiasts can find ideas and relevant products. Gluten Free has grown over the years and has also collected the positive evaluation of Accredia with ISO 25639 certification.

The event takes place simultaneously with Lactose Free Expo, the first and only international show dedicated to the market of lactose-free products. Even this appointment maintains a purely B2B character and seeks to give greater visibility to the companies operating in this sector, wants to bring together players from the Ho.Re.Ca. with those who propose novelty without lactose.

Both fairs have been growing since their launch. In 2017, Gluten Free Expo grew by 27% compared to the previous year, while Lactose Free Expo grew by 18%.

In this 2018 edition, the most important news regards the GDO for which a specific program of activities and events has been organized that mainly involves signs such as Coop and Despar.

Training and updating are combined with the show, thanks to the countless show-cooking that will be organized between the stands and in the designated areas of the fair. Last year more than 150 events were presented during the fair.

Another new feature of this 2018 edition will be the greater participation of the Ho.Re.Ca. sector, thanks to the work of FIC - Italian Federation of Chefs, Conpait, CAST Alimenti that will explore the theme of catering that embraces gluten-free and lactose free solutions, highlighting the economic advantages and market opportunities, compared to the current context and the ever-increasing demands.

Both fairs show products and food solutions but also conservation technologies, services for the management of gluten-free and lactose free businesses, commercial solutions and franchise opportunities, equipment and useful tools.

Although some Australian scientists are testing a vaccine against celiac disease (as explained by gastroenterologist Jason Tye Din of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the vaccine would target specific gluten cells and would teach the human body how to manage gluten without attacking the gut; vaccine is still in the experimental phase), knowing the aspects of a gluten-free diet is part of a more conscious diet.
