The road show has just ended to bring the operators of the sector closer to the next edition of Lineapelle 2018. The Italian event is scheduled for February 20th and will run until the 22nd, at the Rho Milano exhibition center.
The first stages of the approach to the fair started in November 2017 in Florence, the route continued later to Portugal, Lombardy, Marche and Spain. The Italian edition of the fair is preceded by the international events of London, LINEAPELLE LONDON (on January 23rd), and of New York, LINEA PELLE NEW YORK (from January 31st to February 1st).
At the edition of October 2017, 1,285 exhibitors participated, with foreign backgrounds from 48 countries. The fair, which registered 21,687 visitors last year, highlights the products and solutions of manufacturers of leathers, accessories and components such as heels, soles, small metal parts, synthetic materials and industrial fabrics, shoe models, bags and leather goods.
In February we are projected towards the new trends of the summer 2019. The focus of the fair will be set up in the Trend Area, which represents, as usual, the innovative heart of the whole event: an exhibition dedicated to the best samples presented.
Footwear is at the center of many business strategies related to the tannery and leather sector. In the last few years, from 2011 to 2017, the share of shoes with leather uppers dropped from 32% to 21% in the US market. Most global multi-brand stores tend to fade or fall in favor of online stores. The pieces that sell best have public prices of less than 100 euros. Manufacturing companies tend to reduce inventories and produce on sales, this could change the dynamics behind certain e-tailers that nowadays are supplied thanks to the stock of the manufacturers or shops, rapidly enriching themselves.
In addition to the fashion lines and the most fashionable trends, during the next edition of Lineapelle we will also address topics dedicated to business management, professional updating, technological tools to be implemented in their production strategies to keep up with the times.
Although the footwear sector had difficulties in Italy in the first months of 2017, according to Lineapelle's Economic Service, the trend remained favorable for the rest of the first half. The leather went well with an overall increase of more than 20%, recorded in the first half of 2017. The leather in the luxury market has found new development spaces and recorded an absolutely positive first half of 2017.
To discover the new fashion trends and how the players of the market will move in the coming months all that remains is to make an appointment for February 20, in Milan, for the edition n. 94 of Lineapelle.
