MARCA 2018 from 17 to 18 January, Bologna Fiere

MARCA 2018 promotes the excellence of Made in Italy and expands the exhibition site

In January, the BolognaFiere district will host the 14th edition of Marca, the second fair at a European level for Distributor Brand products. The event is organized by BolognaFiere together with the Association of Modern Distribution (ADM).

It is a very important fair in the international panorama, and is the only one in Italy that addresses the commercial brand, the brands of GDO and DO, Italian producers and distributors.

The event will take place on 17th and 18th January and includes sessions dedicated to work-shops, training events and conferences for all operators involved in the Organized Modern Distribution sector.

For this new edition, the exhibition spaces are widened and foreign attendance increased by operators directly involved in the decision-making actions of the retail sector. This result confirms the market trend regarding the Distributor Brand, which in the first nine months of 2017 recorded a 2.9% sales growth.

Particularly important is the increase in products where MDD Insegna is innovating, such as Bio or Ecological products (+ 10.6%) and Functional products (+ 11.8%), ie products that address specific functions, such as health , wellness, vegan, gluten free, etc.

But to what future is the Modern Distribution oriented?

Surely we aim to insert more and more fresh vegetable products on the shelves of the GDO. It will be discussed during one of the refresher meetings organized for 18 January, "The future of fresh plant-based convenience in the Modern Distribution", organized by AIIPA - Italian Food Products Association.

During the two-day fair, the convention "Smart Packaging, added value for retail" will be held, an initiative organized in collaboration with BE-MA Editrice, which will push the importance of "smart packaging", ie intelligent packaging to improve the processes of logistics, transport and sales to the final consumer.

In addition, new proposals will be presented to insert QR Code in logistics management, digital displays to show additional information on the exhibited products or to offer promotions dedicated to the user interfacing.

Internet of Things, higher product quality and management, are just some of the news that operators in the sector will be able to touch with hand during the next edition of Marca.
