Padua fair boasts a tradition of about one hundred years which began with the first edition of the Trade Fair in 1919. At that time the effects of the bombings of the second world war could still be seen in the city of Padua.
Today's fair district was built in 1945, covers a total surface area of 155 thousand sq. m. – 70 thousand sq. m. of which. are covered – and stands close to the city centre.
Besides changing technology inside the different exhibition structures , the recent requalification of the show area has also led to a significant widening of the exhibiting area.
Each district of the fair of Padua is divided into three parts: the Welcoming-reception area, the multipurpose halls and the meeting areas.
Close to the new multipurpose halls planed to host any kind of events and visitors, still stand the historical ones whose technology has also been renewed and the halls of the eastern area built according to the most recent qualitative standards and hosting 7 new conference rooms and the press room.
The meeting areas have been planed not only for the exhibition activity but also for other different events. Every year the afore mentioned areas host 600 conventions, i.e. 40 thousand participants and more than 1000 speakers. Hall No. 7 – an area now provided with new technology – represents a meeting point for journalists and opinion leaders.
Every year PadovaFiere hosts 700 thousand visitors on average, both Italian and international and, in particular, from Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean area. In order to satisfy the needs of all visitors and exhibitors, 3 hotels have been built close to the city centre with an availability of 1800 beds.
