Mielizia organic honey made from Italian organic farming guaranteed by Alce Nero

Alce Nero & Mielizia represent a group of organic farmers, bee breeders and fair trade producers who promote a direct distribution of their organic food products.  

Mielizia is a group of more than 1000 producers of honey distributed throughout Italy, gathered under CONAPI (Italian Beekeepers and Organic Farmers Association) which collects, packages and promotes different kinds of honey. Technologies that respect the different types of honey are used, while honey is never pasteurized, nor treated with chemical principles of synthesis.   Organic honey is packaged without undergoing any preservation heat treatment.

Each honey has different organoleptic qualities, different aromas, flavors, colors and scents that make each production different and rich in history, they speak of the place they come from and the care given to production.

Here are some examples of varieties:

• Acacia honey - sweet for the high-fructose content and absence of strong flavors, it is suitable for sweetening without altering the taste.
• Orange honey – a single-flower honey among the most prized for its fine taste.  Try it with yogurt, whipped cream and cream-based desserts, mascarpone or ricotta.
• Forest Honey – this Honey is particularly characterized by dark color. Because of its heat resistance it is suitable as a substitute for caramel.
• Chestnut honey - the bitter taste and strong aroma make it ideal for seasoning or flavoring.
• Eucalyptus - ideal spread on sandwiches with butter and in the preparation of savory foods.
• Millefiori of Tuscany - comes from various groups of plants in Tuscany.  It lends itself to many uses: spread on bread or toast, in the preparation of sweets or to be simply enjoyed with a spoon.  
• Millefiori dell'Appennino - comes from various blooms that characterize the Italian Apennines during the months of June and July.  Excellent in the kitchen, with hot drinks, spread on bread and toast or to enhance the flavor of milk and dairy products.

Today we are a company of farmers, directly processing and distributing their products at national and international level. The Alce Nero and Mielizia Group guarantees high quality products. For more than thirty years, our brands have been synonymous of good, safe, fair and sustainable. We are involved in the whole chain: from the fields, where we select the most suitable and traditional varieties, to the production techniques, chosen in the respect of raw materials, to the processing with innovative technologies preserving the genuineness of the products. Right up to distribution, highly efficient, providing a service and quality guaranteed over time.

This is what leads us to work side by side with small producers from Latin America united in Cooperativa Sin Fronteras. We work to produce wealth and to improve cooperation between the different economic subjects, to promote a more convenient and socially acceptable (fair) way to produce, to sell and to consume. Cooperativa Sin Fronteras is a non-profit organization supporting the development, the growth and the integration of small and medium organic farmer enterprises, based on democratic participation, according to FLO guidelines.

Alce Nero & Mielizia group is committed to build a transparent loyal relationship between producers and consumers, giving them access to all relevant information of the products they buy and their origin. Each label is like an Identity Card of the product, and tells its full history. Since 2004, all our packages carry the brand, product name and expiry date in Braille, the writing system for blind people. Today our range includes over 250 products.
